What is Karma?
It is the law of cause and effect… every action produces an equal and opposite reaction. Every time we think or do something, we create a cause, which in time will bear its corresponding effects.
It is called and described by so many religions and sects as Retribution, when you throw a ball on the wall it will surely bounce back to you, boomerang, you reap what you sow, what you do to others you do to yourself…
Every person is responsible for his or her acts and thoughts, so each person’s karma is entirely his or her own. .” If someone acts positively, then positive energy will come back to the person and if someone acts negatively, then negative energy will come back to the person”
Karma is the universal system of justice and it is conducted without emotion or negative judgment. Karma is different from justice because it is not really punishment; it is only an opportunity for future learning. There is actually no need for human interference with this system because it works flawlessly. It works just like a boomerang. The boomerang comes back to us every time it is thrown into the air. Inevitably as mentioned earlier, we are responsible for our actions.
What are the practical effects of karma in our lives of today… most people have the belief of past life reincarnation and heaven and hell but some don’t have… Let’s look at the practical effects of how karma affects our lives on a daily basis without sounding esoteric…
THE EFFECTS OF KARMA IN OUR DAILY LIVES
(1)Your world today is lessons from the past
Your world today is just a reflection of your past. What you do today will mirror your future. Your actions create your future. What you are experiencing right now is what karma wants you to experience. Every feeling, every thought, has been prepared especially for you, so you can learn from your past. You can’t escape from your past, but you can learn from it.
(2) Your intentions
your Act might look good but the intentions behind the act might be for selfish reasons, or reasons to hurt or cause pain to someone or people… it might look altruistic.. Typical example having an NGO but your intention is to 419 people…
By doing this you have just created “bad karma” for yourself, because you deliberately harmed and manipulated people. Your intentions were bad. It is intention that creates karma. Good intentions will always create “good karma”. You can hide your intentions from others but not from yourself or the universe.
(3) What you do to another you do to yourself
You Will Never be Happy at Someone Else’s Expense You came from the same source as everyone else. You will never be happy if you hurt those around you. When you think you are alone there are always observers. “The most important one being you.” If you take away intention then there is no karma. If you genuinely didn’t mean to harm or hurt someone then the law of karma is now absent. It is your intention that invokes karma, good or bad. No one can violate nature’s law of karma.
(4) Understand the consequences of each act
The universe wants you to understand the suffering of others. To do this you must experience life from many different perspectives. It is essential to understand why you did something and what the consequences were. A karmic experience allows you to reflect and correct your mistakes.
It is only when you step into someone else’s shoes that you begin to really understand how they feel. You will continue to have the same experiences until you learn what others feel and experience
(5) Transforms you into a better person
The law of karma transforms you into a better person. There are no “other people”. We are all one. When you kick a tramp on the street you are kicking yourself. When you harm another, you are harming yourself. The more you aware of the meaning of life, the fewer lessons you will need .
(6)Bad Karma blessing in disguise
Your bad karma is a blessing in disguise guilt is a form of punishment. Painful results in your life come from actions you took that clashed with the goals of the universe. The pain drives home the lesson. Nothing ever goes away until it has taught you what you must know.
(7) Revenge a dish best served cold
When someone does something horrible to you and you revenge, you inflict additional pain, you exacerbate the damage through a separate negative action… Always remember when someone hurts others they are soon experiencing pain from an unrelated event. Karma is a universal law like the law of gravity it is a fair system
Revenge is different, karma just means that people should be responsible for their actions; but it does not mean that more pain should be inflicted simply to “balance the score.” Ensuring that individuals are responsible for the pain they have caused is a form of justice.
Seeking revenge is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. The old Chinese proverb states… ‘If you’re going to seek revenge, you’d better dig two graves.’”
Revenge is similar to a punishment that exceeds the severity of the “crime.” Revenge also changes the balance of negative energy. Initially, the person who causes the pain has the “negative score” but once revenge anything and everything that we do to others will sooner or later be done to us by someone, somewhere.
(8) Bad luck stories
A “red flag” is always present when people continually portray themselves as “victims.” They believe that numerous negative events are happening to them, without any negative actions on their part. Many “victims” are actually very negative people. Their “bad luck” stories seem to be unrelated to actions on their part, when indirectly they have brought the bad luck to themselves. Everyone is exposed to some level of “bad luck” but repeated bad luck usually implies some form of personal responsibility. In fact, many people who call themselves “victims” are often the victimizers. Other people become the victims of their own cruel actions.
(9) The law of karma never sleeps
some of us are funny or think we can get away with some things yeah right , escape the law of the land or slip through the clutches of authority in some other way when they are tempted… sometimes we hope people will forgive us or be powerless to revenge our actions or it be forgotten or never be caught… not so with the law of karma also a law of retribution. It never sleeps a cosmic law whether you believe it or not… like the law of gravity never sleeps, is never off duty or off its guard, it is never tired.
The good that we do to others we shall receive back in like measure; and the evil that we do to others in like manner we shall receive back too. This does not in the least mean that the same people whom we treat well or ill will be the actual ones to return the action. That almost never happens; but what does happen is that at some other time or place, often far away and long afterwards, someone else who knows nothing whatever of the previous action will, nevertheless, repay it, grain for grain, to us.
For every unkind word that you speak to or about another person, an unkind word will be spoken to or about you. For every time that you cheat, you will be cheated. For every time that you deceive, you will be deceived. For every lie that you utter, you will be lied to. Every time that you neglect a duty, or evade a responsibility, or misuse authority over other people, you are doing something for which you will inevitably have to pay by suffering a like injury yourself…
Observe anything good or bad happening in your life… have you treated people the same way make a mental note and write it down in your self-discovery journal.
Food for thought
Karma treats everyone equally. You won’t get special treatment. Learn from your past. Learn from the lessons of your life. part 2 highlights ways to benefit from karma in our lives
